I have been a working artist in the beauty industry for fourteen years, behind the chair, as an educator, and as a freelancer. I currently reside in the greater Grand Rapids area in beautiful West Michigan with my husband, Brian, and our fur-child, Dylan. I eat tacos at least once a week, maybe two, but who is counting! I'm working on becoming a yogi and replacing my CD's with vinyl. I'm a part time freelance makeup artist and full-time hairstylist. Makeup for photography is definitely in my top three.
I'm passionate about relationships, creating, beauty, and authenticity. Makeup and hair shouldn't be a mask you wear, but a reflection of who you are and how you want to feel. I would love the opportunity to enhance your beauty in a way that makes you feel alive and gorgeous! Bridal, branding, events, what do they all have in common? You will be photographed! Also, you should feel comfortable in your look away from the camera. Depending on your skin's needs and your concerns and desire, I offer airbrushed foundation and traditional liquid foundation. My photographer friends say the airbrushed foundation is flawless and how much easier it makes their editing. I dream of style shoots, and love my brides! The other two in my top three are styling and balayage. If you are being photographed, I enjoy pairing makeup with a little bit of hair styling. I'm obsessed with waves! Whether it be a beachy, vintage or bombshell curl, you name it, I'm down! I am currently accepting new clients at Salon Citrene in downtown Grand Rapids where I specialize in balayage and lived-in textured haircuts.
Applying makeup and styling someone's hair can be very personal. Whether it is your wedding, a portrait, or a late night balayage session, it is very important for us to build a relationship and connection. I also appreciate education and will give you the knowledge to recreate the look I give you. Most of all, I want you to leave my chair feeling and knowing and that you, my friend, are beautiful!
